This portion is one of eight portions, that forms part of the SARAGOSSA GAME RESERVE, which is game fenced. Portion 14 (410 ha) and 18 (103 ha) linked to portion 4 are for sale as well and could be purchased as a package.
This is an extraordinary property insofar as it offers Middleveld flora and fauna in which a wide range of game roams, it has potential for a significant income from an established game lodge (currently not trading) but which has been very successful pre Covid, plus it has agricultural worth with arable land and irrigation rights, and with pecan trees that are in production.
The farm of 428 hectares in the Elands Valley and is within a certified area of highly endangered species. Plains game includes giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, impala, nyala, waterbuck and eland antelope. There are also hippo, leopard, brown hyena, bush buck, civet, caracal, genets and an incredible abundance of bird life (more than 200 counted species). The Lodge offers 16 beds, a restaurant, whisky bar etc. It has 5 dams, one of which is approximately 5 hectares.
Saragossa Game Lodge:
The Lodge was built in 1920 and comprises 7 guest suits, beautifully appointed, a restaurant, Whisky and cigar lounge, wine cellar next to an office and swimming pool. It is very well located as a stopover between O.R. Tambo airport and Kruger National Park. The room prices, based on local statistics, would range between R 2,500 pppn to R 2,700 pppn, with breakfast included. The Lodge is currently not operational. It did not re open after Covid but prior to that was very well supported by mostly international guests. All buildings require attention and renovation work.
