Verlorenkloof Estate, is a unique shareblock development set on 1600 hectares in a beautiful valley on the eastern escarpment of Mpumalanga, near Dullstroom and Lydenburg. The estate lends itself to nature lovers, with 6 trout dams, 6 kms of the Crocodile River, cycling trails and 42km trails for hiking, birding, archaeology and botany walks.
Accommodation is available in 23 self-catering crofts. The crofts have been carefully positioned to ensure privacy and make the best of the amazing views. There are three, four and five bedroom configurations, some crofts offer plunge pools. All very well equipped and serviced twice a day. Each croft also features a braai area, set either in a lapa or on the covered veranda.
The estate features a beautiful lodge, which is home to the reception area, conference facilities and Foodspace, a pre-order meal facility, deli and all-day coffee shop. Sunday brunch is a special affair and out of town pre-bookings are welcome.
Verlorenkloof has been in operation since 2000 and has a dedicated management team who has been involved from the start. The estate is RCI affiliated and has won many associated awards.

Accommodation

There are two ownership options:
- Single fixed and floating weeks, priced from R25,000 to R65,000 (Croft 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11). The annual calendar varies from year to year; fixed weeks are coupled to school and public holidays and not dates. Floating weeks move in accordance. The annual calendar is available in July each year.
- Syndicate slots, priced from R81,000 to R180,000. Syndicate slots are a minimum of two weeks. (Crofts 4 and 8, 12 - 23).
Syndication date allocation
Verlorenkloof has a unique method of allocating dates for syndicate weeks. Owners are requested to provide management with three date options, the first option being the ultimate desired date, second option next best dates and then a third option. The management team then undertakes the process of allocating weeks fairly. The calendar is available in July each year and allocations are done in bulk early in September.
Levies 2017: Applies to both syndicates and single weeks:
Six bedroom crofts: R6250 per week per year
Ten bedroom crofts: R6950 per week per year
Ten bedroom crofts with pools: R7550 per week per year
There have only ever been two special levies raised in the history of the estate, both at the request of owners.

Costs involved
The purchase consideration is a once off cost and ownership is in perpetuity. An additional once off transfer admin fee of R2000.00 per week is payable. Annual levy per week as stated above.
Unlike many other resorts, there is no gate fee payable.
Rentals
Should the owner not be able to make use of their week, it can be put in the Verlorenkloof rental pool. A minimum admin fee is charged and for the most part, the levy amount is recovered.
Fishing Etiquette:
- Rod Limit, one rod per bedroom of the occupied croft, allowed at one time;
- Tackle, only conventional fly tackle allowed. Except for on the Kiddies pond (Koljander), children’s rods may be used;
- Barbless flies to be used at all times;
- Dam Limits: Strictly catch and release on all dams, with the exception of the Kiddies pond (Koljander) where a catch limit of 1 fish per angler per day applies.
- River Limits: Strictly catch and release.

SINGLE WEEK CROFTS
Croft 1 - 3 (10 sleeper)
Occupation commences at 15h00 on a Wednesday and ends at 10h00 on the following Wednesday.
- Double volume, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Five bedrooms, of which three are en suite;
- Separate third bathroom, with shower;
- Double carport.

Croft 5, 7, 9, 11 (6 sleeper)
Occupation commences at 15h00 on a Friday and ends at 10h00 on the following Friday.
- Double volume, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Three bedrooms, of which one is en suite;
- Separate second bathroom, with shower;
- Double carport.

Croft 6, 10 (10 sleeper)
Occupation commences at 15h00 on a Friday and ends at 10h00 on the following Friday.
- Double volume, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Three en suite bedrooms, located on the upper floor;
- Two bedrooms, on the lower level, share a bathroom;
- Double carport.

SYNDICATE CROFTS
Occupation commences at 15h00 on a Friday and ends at 10h00 on the following Friday. All crofts have storage lockers for personal items.

Croft 4, 8, 12 (10 sleeper)
- Double volume, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Three en suite bedrooms, located on the upper floor;
- Two bedrooms, on the lower level, share a bathroom;
- Double carport.

Croft 13, 15, 16 and 17 (6 sleeper)
- Double volume, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Three en suite bedrooms;
- Double carport.

Croft 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 (10 sleeper)
- All on one level, open plan kitchen, living, dining area with closed combustion fireplace;
- Four en suite bedrooms of which two rooms have a queen bed and one single bed in
- Double carport;
- Crofts 20 - 23 have swimming pools.
