TROUT HATCHERY:
The hatchery is currently in us. The last of the trout were sold approximately mid winter 2014, so is fully functional.

All dams are gravity fed with water from an intake weir upstream. A very simple but efficient valve and overflow system, regulates the flow of water and therefore no pumps and very little maintenance is required. In a good year the hatchery has capacity to produce about 2000 kg of trout.

Covered section of the hatchery consists of:
-8 concrete troughs of 1000 litres each for hatching fish eggs and housing the fingerlings until they are big enough to be moved to the concrete dams;
-2 holding basins of 200 litres each.

The open air section of the Hatchery consists of circular concrete wall tanks:
-4 x 20,000 litres each
-4 x 40,000 litres each
-1 x 12,000 litres
-4 x aerators (in working condition).

WATER:
-Two dams of approximately 0,25 ha;
-Operational borehole. The water is of excellent drinkable quality (3000l per minute);
-600 m river frontage;
-2 x water storage tanks (3000 litres).
